Melody Cooper trained in theatre design at NIDA, Sydney, and has worked extensively in theatre and film. Currently she makes felt with her mother, Annette, and designs and produces silk-screened fabrics and mosaics, as well as three-dimensional objects in fabric such as Krazy Kat and Ignatz. Over the years Melody has often collaborated with Annette in making costumes. Recently their creative collaborations have become more frequent as Melody has shared her mother’s workload (felting is a very physical process) and learned the secrets of her felt-making techniques. Melody spends her time between her studio in Brisbane and Annette's studio in Billinudgel, Australia.
